News on the European Cleanroom market

 The specialized cleanroom service company decontam GmbH based in Bad Windsheim near Nürnberghas has, from the 2^ndof April 2012, become a part of Berendsen. decontam employs 40people and has been operating for more than 25 years in the cleanroom business. 

decontam covers Germany, Austria and several other European countries and offers a high standard and wide variety of contamination control, textile and laundry services. The customers are primarily within the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, medical and electronics industries. Production in these controlled environments puts high demands on the service provider for clean and also sterilized textiles.

The Berendsen Group has 16.000 employees operating in 15 countries. Berendsen has for many years been the market leader in Europe providing textile services within a broad variety of areas ranging from matsand washroom services to cleanroom services. Berendsen has specialized cleanroom laundries in Holland, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Together with decontam in Germany, the seven cleanroom laundries will form a unique platform of knowledge in services, products, solutions and back-up facilities for the customers in Northern Europe. 

Berendsen is very enthusiastic about recognizing the similarities in market approach, customer partnership and innovations. Together with decontam’s market coverage and knowledge, the new Berendsen Cleanroom Service will increase competences in organization and service levels for the customers.

As a part of Berendsen, decontam will continue to be the brand for the cleanroom services delivered in Germany. Markus Schad has been appointed as the Country Manager for Germany, joining the European Cleanroom Management team and will continuously develop the decontam business as a part of the Berendsen organization using our existing propositions and European scale to benefit our customers.

The process of joining forces has already started and will align all propositions available throughout the countries through sharing the best practices.
